What did the kids do all week?

Each day, we focused on a different thing that God’s people do and a Bible story that related to it.  We started with God’s People Care, and experienced the story of baby Moses.  We continued throughout the week with God’s People Help and the story of Namaan, God’s People Trust and the story of Jesus helping the disciples catch fish, God’s People Believe and Jesus healing a blind man, and God’s People Listen and Jesus’ story comparing those who listen to Jesus to the man who builds his house on a rock.

But the kids didn’t just listen to the story, they lived it.  So each day they played games, sang songs, enjoyed enriching crafts, heard and acted out the story in storytelling, did experiments in science, and spent time together with their small groups.  Together, these activities helped them to really feel the story.  We hope that these stories will stay with them throughout their lives.

Thank you Volunteers!

Thank you to all our volunteers and staff for making OSLC’s VBS such a special place for our campers.  And, also thank you to all of you who helped by providing supplies and materials for use during VBS.  Each volunteer was vital to the success of VBS – we couldn’t have done it without you!

Our Local and Global Missions

Wow!  Your donations have truly enriched our two mission partners:  Project Ready to Learn and MayaCREW.  We received a large bin full of several backpacks and many supplies including pencils, pens, glue sticks, paper, notebooks, scissors, and more.  The children of Contra Costa County and Chichicastenango, Guatemala, will benefit from your generosity.  Thank you for helping to support the education of these children!
